This is one of 2 masks that my brother brought back from the Samoan Islands when he was in the Coast Guard from 1965-66. Both are wonderful but I am downsizing and its time to let them go. He told he that the island he bought these from was only accessible by boat and the natives were selling them to the few people who at that time made it there \"back in the day\".The colors and tones of the wood are so beautiful! Pictures cant do true justice to how pretty this mask is.Its 16 inches long and 7 1/2 inches at its widest and about 3 inches \"deep\". The wood is beautiful and the handcarved details are nothing like you would see today. The very few I\'ve seen before even close to this were selling for much more. If shipping is actualy less than what I am listing, I will refund the difference. PLEASE ask me if you have questions and do look closely at the pictures.
