On wood handle I believe it sais pat. June 14th 1881????
Embossed on Metal itself is Manufactured by
Underwood & Underwood New York Patented U.S.A June 11th 1901.It is missing the Slider , small crack in wood where screws are and slight bend in the metal,please check out the photos !!!! Wood finish is nice and rich , no rust or anything.Handle opens and closes freely.The way this would work is you would put your slide in the two clips and adjust the viewer to your eyes focus to view the slide .
