VINTAGE UNIVERSALMEAT-NUT-FOOD GRINDER
This isavintage cast iron Universal No. 2 Food Chopper, 8 3/4\" tall, 5# grinder made in the USA byL F & C in New Britain, Conn. Shows patent dates of Oct. 12, 1897 and Apr 18, 1899 and \"RE Sept 5, 1899\".Could be manufactured in the 19th century. It has a 9\" long wooden handled crank. Has adark patina surface and shows little sign of wear or abuse. The unit is very clean.
The only issue is the clamping piece on the screw clamp is missing and has been replaced by a large nut that is attached to the screw (see image). This does not affect usage.
(The handle will probably be removed to facilitate shipping. This is easily re-attached with the original wing nut.)
