Here is a nice Art Deco glass bead necklace. The beads were made in the 1930s in Venice, or possibly BohemiaThe feature beads are lava glass, an ivory base layer splashed with matt black then drizzled with gold foil trails. These are heavy round graduated beads, from 3/4 to 1/4 inch.( 15 to 5 cm)Most of this type of bead shed some of the gold foil glass with age, and this one is no exception. I have restrung this removing the most chipped beads. This now looks \'shabby chic\' as quite a few of the beads have lost a bit of foiled glass. My personal opinion is that it looks more interesting and is certainly unique. The photos will give a good idea. Nice and long at 30 inches (76 cm) Gold coloured screw barrel clasp, fancy brass unused, but old, beadcaps, smaller foils and gold glass seed beads act as spacers between each bead .
