Virgil (1935- ) is Zuni/Paiute and Shirley (1936- ) is Hopi/Tewa. As a couplethey started their channel and mosaic inlay in the 1960\'s specializing inkachinas, animal necklaces, and natural objects.
They have a shared makers mark \" Virgil and Shirley Benn\" in script.(see pics)

The Bennett PAT PEND C-31 clasp dates between 1957 and 1967. A Bennettclasp without the C-31 is 1967 to 1983 and a clasp with no lettering is after1983. the clasp is not sterling.
The slide has hand formed sterling silver channel outlining the custom cut inlayand it is framed by chiseled silver beads..
The bolo weighs 32 grams and has been tested for 90% silver content. The slide is 2 5/8\" length x 1 7/8\" wide.The vinyl lariat is 36\" long including the 2 1/4\" long newsterling silver tips. There are no chips, no cracks, no dents and no deepscratches. This is a pre-owned piece and has very little wear considering theage. It is in very good condition.
