....... reinvention Art snow globe......Vintage \"rare\" religious Virgin Mary with baby Jesus snow globe in aged verdigris base with crowned dome for French Chic, Shabby Chic home decor.
My artistic designs are reinvented using vintage, distressed and salvaged materials that may have signs of wear, fading, missing stones, little defects and imperfections. These are the marks of pieces with history and glamour that I hunt to make something different. The beauty of imperfection!I love snow globes and the magic of snow falling down. I collect them for a longtime and it is not easy to find something unusual. Most vintage snow globes are plastic (described if different) and usually they come to me in bad shape, dried and dirty. Rather than having them all in group inside a cabinet, I started by uplifting some for a special eye-catch home decor.
- This Virgin Mary snow globe is a truly rare finding! It is round dome shape and it is religious, I never had one like this in years of hunting globes. A precious little treasure.
It needed a water refill and cleaning. Snow is original and I added some Silver and Gold glitter to accent even more the magic.
- I made the pedestal from vintage ceiling lamp hardware, painted Black and aged with verdigris patina. I embellished it with vintage rhinestones, genuine Coral beads matching the Virgin tone. It is finished with buffed antique Gold patina.
- I made the little crown from scratch using vintage jewelry and rhinestones. Size tall with metal base......16cm / 6\" 1/2 approx.
