Vintage Wall Crucifix

Last Rites/Sick Call Set

Here\'s a vintage Catholic wooden wall crucifix that doubles as a sick room or last rites set. It dates from the 1950s or \'60s. The crucifixtop slides off to reveal a compartment -- theset is complete and includes two candles, an instructive brochure, and a holy water vial (empty). I believe the wood is walnut. Jesus\' figureis brass. The decorative insert under Jesus appears to be something they called \"ivorene\", or some earlier plastic. This set was made so that you could hang it on the wall, but if you wish you could take it down, slide off the crucifix and set it into the notch provided there, then take the candles and put those into the little receptacles (see photo) -- then thesetwould beupright ona table. The crucifixmeasures 14\" long.Condition (on a scale of poor, fair, good, very good, excellent) is very good. The wood is in excellent condition with no damage. The decorative strip under Jesus has a bit of an uplift or raised portion, only on the one (right) side however.

When problems happen! 1) One thing that comes up occasionally is that a purchase is received and it isn\'t the size you imagined it would be. Before purchasing check the measurements in the listing, being sure it is the size you want...use a ruler to envision the true size...relying on just the photos can be misleading. 2)And please, if you have any problem whatsoever with your purchasejust send me a message - before or after the sale. The fine print!I try to think of what is important to you. I combine all purchases in one box to save you money. When a shipping problem does come up, a lost item or damage, I will track your package and if necessary begin the claim process so you don\'t lose any money because of damage from the carrier. I insure purchases over $15. I pride myself on safe and professional shipping...check my response...you\'ll see happy customers. I do accept returns on most of my items...but some things are either too large, or too fragile, to safely withstand the handling of shipping back and forth...each listing will state whether that item can be returned or not. Please write me with any concerns or questions at all (nothing is too dumb!)...I will respond ASAP.

I do try very hard to represent my items as accurately and honestly as possible - damage and shortcomings too. Most of my goods are used, whether they are merely older, or vintage, or a fabulous antique - but they are used. Keep this in mind when considering a purchase - there will be imperfections and signs of wear to one degree or another. So unless I say the item is new, pristine, or mint - it\'s used. These items have a history, and actually that is why I love them!

I acquire my items from estate sales, flea markets, sales, individuals, etc. I give the items a light dusting and that\'s usually all, but sometimes items receive a wipe down. I do not smoke or have pets, but of course I can\'t say whether they were in a smoke-free Environment before I got them. I will state in each listing if they have an objectionable odor.

If something is not right with your purchase and you are not happy . . . . Please, please contact me prior to neutral or negative response. You need to give a seller a chance to make things right. Finding out that something was wrong with the item while reading response is a terrible way to start the day. Everyone makes mistakes . . . . Good, trustworthy sellers fix the problems. Believe me, I will fix the problem.
