Vintage and authentic WWII issued folding military shovel stamped US Wood 1944. The 6\" wide steel shovel head locks in place with a screw-nut fastener at the end of the wooden handle. It measures about 28\" in overall length (20.5\" when folded). The shovel is strong and solid, but there are surface rust marks, and signs of use and wear.
