Vintage WMF Art Nouveau Jugendstil BiscuitBarrel /Jam Jar, Roman Piewkiewicz, Warszawa, circa 1900

This beautifulJugendstil / Art Nouveau Biscuit Barrel / Jam Jar was made by Roman Piewkiewiczof the WMF company and dates to circa 1900. The piece has a 3 leg base, a removable glass insert, anda lid with top finial. The underside of the base is marked “Piewkiewicz”,“Warszawa”, “i/o”, “M B”. The entire piece measures approximately 6-1/2 inches tall, 5 inches wide, and 5 inches deep. The metalstand measures approximately 3-3/4 inches tall and 4-1/2 inches wide. The metal lidmeasures approximately 2inches talland 4inches indiameter. The glass insert measuresapproximately 3-1/2inches tall,with a 3-7/8inch top diameter,and a 2-1/4 inch bottom diameter. Theglass insert does not appear to be original but the lid does fit on it. Otherthan the replaced glass insert, this WMF art nouveau biscuit barrel / jam jaris in very good vintage condition.
