A Vintage Wooden Barrel Bucket Bowl with Center Post.
This great old bucket/barrel/bowl has age appropriate wear from heavy use. Scratches and worn areas to the finish, especially on the inner part of the barrel. But the overall effect results in that great and very desirable Primitive look that we love. This looks to have been a bucket used for nutcracking at one time, because it has a center knob/post, but is missing any implements. Aside from wear to the finish, the barrel itself is strong and sturdy and in very good vintage condition. The two large wooden lap bands holding the staves together, are in great shape and firmly attached. The wood, which appears to be a pinewood, has a beautiful mellow reddish tone. A really great looking barrel! Please look over all the photos along with the description, to assess overall appearance, age and condition.
This is a wonderful and unusual piece, ideal for the Primitive home, and great in a wooden wares collection. Also a nice centerpiece on a country table or in a cupboard holding collectible items.
The measurements are 9 1/2\" across the top opening, 9\" across at the base, and about 5\" tall. There is no maker\'s signature, but this is a very well made piece.
