Please see the pictures - yet another item from my garage that is being cleared outto free up more space. This is a vintage wrought iron door knocker which has been made byan artisan blacksmith. From the wear and style I would think that this would date to the late18th or early 19th century. The knocker is a pear shaped heavy duty part that has been madewith a great degree of skill. Size of the back plate is approx 10\" X 5\" and there are two hand madenails which woulod secure the back plate to the door.
This item could benefit from a good clean and polish up but I have left the surface uncleaned sothat the new owner can do this to their own level of finish.Item is ingoodcondition - NO damage,NO repair. A genuine antique door fitting that would grace any traditional wooden door
