Vintage Wurlitzer 1100 Jukebox, 1948:
$7500.00

Vintage Wurlitzer 1100 Jukebox, 1948.

This sale is for a Wurlitzer 1100 manufactured in 1948 and is set to play 78 rpm records. Please scroll down for pictures.

About 10 years ago this machine was completely disassembled and restored. It received new wood veneer on both sides. The electronics were rebuilt. All chrome parts have been re-plated (with the exception of the selector cover in the center). The dome plastic (\"Special\" sticker has partly come off) and the two lit corner plastics are after market. Everything else is original. The mechanism as been completely disassembled, re-plated and restored by Frank Hamway in Florida (he is THE authority when it comes to Wurlitzer mechanisms).

This machine works but has not been used for about a year and now needs a tune-up. The record selection process is erratic. It plays different records than what has been selected. Also, it does not always stop after a record has played, but might continue to play other records. I also detected a slight \"whistling\" sound, probably coming from a capacitor or condenser in the amplifier.

The Cabinet: It\'s in great shape inside and out with the exception of the faux wood decal on the right side that has faded from the sun and has come off towards the back (these decals are still being produced).

The Record shelf/stack: The veneer has a crack between the record stack and the turntable and has slightly lifted. The record trays swing out, place the records on the turntable and put them back into the stack smoothly.

The Mechanism: It\'s clean and probably looks better now than when it rolled off the factory conveyor belt, thanks to Frank\'s restoration.

The Coin Gear: It\'s present and working. The coin slot has been enlarged to accept Pesos (the jukebox came out of Mexico).

This jukebox is located 35 miles north of New York City.

The buyer is responsible for pick-up or to arrange for shipping.
