Vintage Zuni Sterling Silver Kokopelli Brooch Signed BW handmade by Zuni silversmith Bryan Waatsa. It is made from sterling silver, into the figure of legendary Kokopelli. Kokopelli is a deity worshipped by several tribes of the American Southwest, including the Zuni; he is the trickster god of fertility as well as music, and is best known bending over his flute (or pipe), with his wild hair dancing above him. This brooch is more detailed than most, with a traditional belt and a stylized pattern along the god\'s back. The proportions of the piece are hand-done, making it one of a kind. It is signed \"B.W. c 91\" and stamped \"Sterling\". This indicates it was made in 1991, by Zuni artist Bryan Waatsa (according to the reference book \"Barton\'s Hallmarks of the Southwest\"). It is in excellent, like-new condition as it has never been used. It measures 2 1/2\" high and 1\" wide. It weighs 7.7 grams.
