Japanese bamboo root ball cane/walkingstick with carvings and signed by the artist- (picture #8) The carvings are-starting at the top and moving down- a monkey asleep in a tree, a large bird with a monkey in his talon snatching it from the tree, a monkey in the tree holding out a piece of fruit like he is offering it to someone, aJapanesewoman on the ground in akimono holding up what looks like some flowers or maybe it is a torch and then the mark/signature of the artist. The end of the cane does not have a tip and is hollow up to the first knot in the bamboo. It measures 34,1/2\" long and 3/4\" wide. The gap between the curve and the cane leg is 3,1/2\" wide.
