Excellent vintage find: NEW, OLD STOCK signed Navajo TWISTED HEART statement pendantfrom a high-end Native American gallery. We were happy to discover this dramatic, old stock, solid sterling silver, handcrafted heart pendant signed by award-winning Navajo silversmith TOM HAWK in a high-end Native American trading post. Itis a substantial 2.5 inches tall with the original sterling soldered bale and 1 5/8 inches wide. The pendant alone weighs a hefty 23.5 grams, with the beaded chain it weights 37 grams.
This striking twisted heart is in perfect condition, signed, also marked sterling. The bale opening is 1/4 inch so it could accommodate your favorite Navajo pearls up to 6mm. The width of the deeply channeled silver is a little over 3/8\" with a width of 1/16.\" The unique twist that forms the top center curve of the heart looks like pulled taffy and is unseamed -- no I don\'t know how the artist does it -- still hot silver and VERY carefully, I would guess. The inside soldered seam at the lower point of the heart is impeccable on this piece.
For convenient gift giving, we have added a new, 20\" sterling silver hallmarked Italian chain, made of solid sterling silvers balls; it weights a substantial 13.5 grams alone and looks great with this vintage Tom Hawk pendant.
