Bold in appearance and newly refinished, this uncommon floating desk isdesigned by George Nelson for Herman Miller, circa 1950.
Chrome legs and pulls, with the desk top floating upon plinths, this vintage desk makes a bold statementmeasuring 71\" wide, 35.5\" deep and 28.5\" tall.
The key operates locks on both pedestals.Drawers run flush on the sides and where seated with an over hang on the visitors side. The black lacquer used by Herman Miller was a flat black and in the refinish processthis has been duplicated perfectly.
The chrome has been polished and the drawers are clean and in excellent condition with eachtop drawer lined with green felt. The flat lacquer prevents glare and provides the desk withthe correct finish as originally intended by George Nelson.
All feet are adjustable. Features the full compliment of drawer spacers as well thefile drawers hardware and all original locks and keys.
Ample storage in the file drawer cabinet. Note the pedestal with the three drawers has the top twodrawers the same size with the bottom drawer larger for various articles that size wise fitbetween a regular drawer and the file drawer on the other pedestal.
Signed with decal by the designer and maker.
