A charming, estate-found vintage mid twentieth century Steiff bunny on wooden wheels. \"U.S. Zone Germany\" marking probably dates it to the period after WWII until before the founding of West Germany in 1949. The covering appears to be a natural fur but I can\'t be sure. He has lost his ear button but the last photo shows the marks in his left ear where it was fastened. Some of his whiskers have been pulled and the fur on his ears is a bit sparse as well and there are brown areas on the fur which may be soiling or the original colors.The wooden wheels are very nice and off center to make the bunny jump along rather than roll. The overall measurement is approximately: 8” long. No odors and no holes or tears. It’s fresh from a mansion in Litchfield Connecticut. A rare item for your Steiff collection.
