History

The pen presented in today\'s listing is a 1930 Wahl-Eversharp Gold Seal Equipoised fountain pen. Top of the line model, with Gold Seal emblem embedded under the high-mounted soldier-type Boston Roller clip. Deco band to the cap along with two narrow bands to the cap and barrel ends. Awesome Art Deco design, highly sought after model - short production run, manufactured only for two or three years, from 1930 until about 1932 when the last models were sold alongside the famed DORIC.

Item condition

The pen is in excellent, condition - fully restored, with justsome teeny tiny bits of high-point wear to the lever; otherwise, the colour isfantastic - deep black with high-gloss surface and no wear to the trim. Cap imprint still there - reading \"Made in U.S.A.\", located over and along the triple Deco Band on the cap.

Nib

14k solid gold fine (F) later Eversharp semiflex banner nib. The pen was likely serviced in the late 30s, probably in 1938 or 39 and the nib was replaced around that time. The line variation is fromXF/hairline width to medium (M) with nice line shading.

Filling system

The filling system is a lever-filler

Tofill, lift the lever, immerse the nib and the edge of the nib section in theink bottle and lower the lever. Repeat the process 3-4 times. Wait 3-4 secondsafter the last lever cycle.

Wipethe pen point and nib section with soft tissue/tissue paper and the pen’s readyto write – the filling system has been fully restored.
