Up for sale is a very nice mahogany tea caddy made by Virginia Metalcrafters (VMC) in Waynesboro, Virginia for the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation. The design is a reproduction of an English antique caddy dating to 1760 in the Colonial Williamsburg Collection. The tea caddy is octagonal-shaped and has brass hardware (catalog number AP101). The inside is lined with foil. The caddy can be locked with a brass key. It measures approximately 5 3/4\" wide and 4 3/4\" tall. The underside of the base is marked with the Virginia Metalcrafters logo and the Colonial Williamsburg logo (see last photo).

In case you\'re not already familiar with Virginia Metalcrafters, they were in business for more than 100 years before they closed their doors in 2006. They were known throughout the world for their high quality metal products and for manufacturing faithful reproductions of rare pieces for Colonial Williamsburg. Their pieces are cherished by collectors and becoming increasingly scarce in the secondary marketplace.Condition of this collectible tea caddy is VERY GOOD. The wood surface looks great with some minor scratches on the underside of the base. The interior is very clean. The brass handle on top is misshaped a bit, perhaps its original condition or it got bent slightly. Overall, this elegant tea caddy looks fantastic and displays well. Please take a close look at the many photos I\'ve provided and judge condition for yourself. I\'m confident you\'ll be very pleased with this purchase.
