I have done that thing I always do and accumulated way too many things along the way to picking up an interest-- this time it\'s members of the trumpet family. So I will be listing the ones that don\'t fit my needs, which at this point are basically \"having only 9 or 10 trumpets or cornets, instead of 18 to 20\". Unless otherwise stated: 1) all will play at least at a minimal level, just like their current owner. 2) They will have all parts, and 3) all valves and slides will be free and moving as their manufacturers intended, with allowances for age and wear and tear.Right over here, next to the elevators,we have this MARTIN IMPERIAL CORNET. Martin, of course is famous for their \"Committee\" model trumpets, jazz mainstays for the likes of Miles Davis and Chet Baker and almost everybody else in the 1950s salad days. The Imperial was the model just below the Committee, and, having had a Committee cornet, I can say the Imperial gives very little away to its much pricier label mate. This particular horn, #706018, comes from 1964. Most of the brass is in good shape, with some small scratches and dings commensurate with the age of the horn. The bell is rougher, has a couple small dings that the flash amplifies and a crease at the rim, could be straightened but I don\'t see the point-- there\'s no folds or much to affect the sound. The 3rd valve water key is not original. The 1st valve has visible finish wear but still moves fast and smooth (Yamaha \"Vintage\" valve oil is what I use, since all my horns are Vintage). Comes with a small case and a GENUINE MARTIN \"7\" CORNET MOUTHPIECE-- rare in itself. Starting price is only 30 DAMN US DOLLARS, so why not take a chance-- especially with FREE SHIPPING (the 25.00 covers my OBSESSIVE packing-- it will arrive in the shape it left my house).THE FINE PRINT: International shipping only through the Global Shipping Program. Returns only if item is grossly misrepresented, buyer pays return shipping. Photos are part of the description.
