Wonderful, Estate found lot, consisting of a \'Dozen plus 2\' [14 total], old handmade, solid stone eggs, in variegated white alabaster marble, and an old, handmade, metal wire ware chicken or hen shaped. basket, with folding wire \"petal\" closure and wire handles. Basket is probably French made, and eggs are probably Italian. Estate found, I believe these eggs and basket date to the first half of the last century, probably circa 1940s.Basket is a larger size and holds all 14 eggs quite comfortably, as you can see. The eggs vary in size slightly, due to their handmade nature, but they are all about the size of a normal hen\'s egg. They have a lot of character that is more visible in person, with grain of the stone and a nice luminous quality. Natural stone surface, not painted or treated. They look great displayed with stone fruit, too.

Basket is about 8\"tall to top of hen\'s head by 7-1/2\" wide at the body and about 11\" long.
