DESCRIPTION

PLEASE NOTE: photos have been lightened to try and show dress details. Dress is deep, dark navy blue in person
Classic yet elegant vintage 1940s party, evening or cocktail dress
Deep navy blue rayon faille fabric
Fitted bodice with wonderful DOUBLE darts at side of bust for great fit
Princess seaming on back of dress
Detachable white waffle weave ivory collar with silver metallic flecks to the pattern
Collar is basted onto the neckline but can be easily removed for cleaning or if you want a different look
Short sleeves
Super full swing skirt constructed with four gores
Comes with the original matching fabric belt
Dress in unlined
Pinked seams
Side zipper and also small zipper at back of neckline for ease of dressing
NOTE: Dress was photographed with a crinoline for extra fullness but this crinoline is not included with 34\"
Waist: 25\"
Hips: Full and free
Shoulder seam to shoulder seam: 14.5\"
Sleeve: 8\" measured from shoulder seam to end of sleeve
Length of bodice: 18\" measured from underneath collar to waistline
Length of skirt: 30\" measured from waistline to hemline
Zipper: 11\" side metal zipper and 5\" metal zipper at back of neck
Belt: 28\" long by 1\" wide

FABRIC: Believed to be a rayon faille fabric

CONDITION: Estate item is pre-owned and true vintage. Dress is in very good vintage condition. Upon inspection it was noted there is a bit of faint underarm discoloration which looks worse in the photos as the photos have been lightened up to show the dress details. Please note that this dress has not been dry cleaned, but has been gently steamed. I no longer have a local cleaners who I trust with my delicate vintage garments, so this will be up to the new owner to dry clean. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
