This is a vintage alpaca six-sided brooch made in Mexico. Alpaca is a faux silver. It is a metal alloy made from copper, nickel and sometimes zinc or iron. The brooch has, besides a pin closure, a loop on the back so it can be worn as a pendant. It is adorned with abalone shell inlay and, what I believe is, frosted teal enamel. Very pretty!
