This is a fantastic pair of early original antique A.H. Andrews cast iron school desk legs from the 1880\'s. There is a patent date on one of the seat brackets that looks like 1881. There is a large number 2 in the middle of both legs that might correspond with the size or model of the desk. Others I\'ve seen didn\'t have numbers or were marked with a number 3, andthese look like they have more detail.They are also marked New York, Chicago.

There is some black paint left, but the majority of the paint has worn off and has been replaced by surface rust. The decorative bracket that holds the seat rotates on both legs, so the seat could have been pushed down for use or up storage or transport. These would make a fantastic bench or architectural piece. They are still sturdy and solid, moving parts still move, and nothing is broken, bent, or missing. There are three holes on each foot, so they could be bolted down. There is only one other screw hole on each, at the end of the seat bracket, so I\'m not sure how a desk top or bench would attach.

They each measure 29\" W with the seat down or 19\" W with it upand stand27 1/2\" H. They measure 18\" W at the feet and 14\" W where the desk top attaches. They will be packed very well and insured during shipping.
