These wonderful French silver, (test approx. 1st standard or sterling 925) art nouveau / art deco era cufflinks are a copy of an ancient Greek coin - a half shekel Calabria Tarentum - from the punic occupation c200 BC - one side only - small and large - a nude youth riding and crowning a running horse with a laurel wreath - all parts are marked: FRANCE with three smaller unidentified marks - possibly bugs or animal heads - they are inverted and identical with a number 1 between. Each measures 3/4\" in diameter - the smaller 1/2\" in diameter - together they weigh a nice solid 11.6 grams - good condition - tarnished as I found them.
