This sale is for a Vintage Great Britain Medal dated 1857-1858 from the Indian Mutiny Rebellion.
Unfortunately, the medal does not have any writing along the rim stating the name of the person who originally received it.
The medal / coin depicts Queen Victoria on one side with the words \'Victoria Regina\'.
On the reverse side is a Britannia holding a wreath and union shield standing by a lion. The Britannia also has a helmet on. Also included on the reverse side are the worlds \'India\' and \'1857-1858\'.
The envelope and plastic sleeve are included with the medal / coin.
It measures approx. 1-3/8\" dia. x 1/8\" thick
Envelope measures approx. 2\" x 2\"The Indian Mutiny was from 1857-1858.
Medals were awarded to 290,000 British and Indian officers, men,
judiciary and civil service personnel who fought in this mutiny.
