Vtg MARTINA AQUINO Ohkay Owingeh San Juan Pueblo Native American Pottery Pot/Jar:
$109.99

For sale is a vintage Native American pot or jar. This piece was by Martina Aquino (1920 - 1982) who was an Ohkay Owingeh ( San Juan) Pueblo artist operating out of New Mexico. This is a VERY small pot or jar, and measures 3 1/4\" tall and about the same in width. The bowl is signed in pencil \"Martina Aquino.\" It is a traditionally styled piece done with red clay and paint with lighter color bas relief. There are some light scratches and a VERY light rub to the rim edge, no chips or cracks present. Martina is listed as having First Prize at the Santa Fe Indian market in 1974 and several other awards through 1981. This is a local estate find from the collection of a woman who collected pottery and jewelry from 1970 - 1990. It would be a great addition to ANY collection!
