The McClellan Saddle was designed by George B McClellan, a career Army officer in the U.S. Army.
This saddle was simple & inexpensive compared to existing saddles. It was sturdy enough to give good support but light enough not to burden the horse.The McClellan Saddle is widely used in the United States by the mounted police and by ceremonial mounted units in the US Army.
Itcontinues to be made in the United States of America.
This McClellan Saddle:This is a size 11 1/2\" Inch- McClellan Saddle and has the brass tag.
It is made out of dark brown leather with brass trimming.
All of the brass saddle trimming is there and the saddle stitching is tight. There are \"D\" rings on the pommel & cantle.This has the cinch strap that is made out of braided wool strips.This saddle is stamped:
