140 - Semi Flex 14K Gold Nib
- ~ Quite Good vintage & functional condition, from late 1950s/ early 1960s , Some light honest wear, But an overall , very clean bright and very attractive Pen :-) The Pen was just professionally refurbished , tuned and polished- the piston filler works perfectly , The cap threads on & posts perfectly, The gold filled trim is bright, some wear on the band, tight cap band (with maker marks) , But the pocket clip is Excellent with no brassing, Very sturdy pocket clip, No Cracks, No warp, no personal engraving, Very pretty green pearl , one small horizontal scratch in the barrel as shown in photo #10 , This is not very detracting IMO, Very clear ink tank, the pen is 4 & 7/8\" capped & 5 & 11/16\" posted.
- The pen cap band is marked \"PELIKAN 140 - GERMANY\" ,with a nice \"Pelikan\" Bird logo on the top of the cap as shown.
- Removable nib unit - Great 14C -.585 Gold Nib with perfect iridium tipping (Fine Point)
Very nice Gold \"F\" nib with Excellent iridium tipping (see photos), Semi flex , Nice profile , Nice smooth point, nice on cheap paper , Glides on Rhodia paper :-) -with nice line variation, It writes a fine line with a light hand, Flexing to 1.1mm possible with out over flexing, moderately easy soft flex ~ Nice wet flex line ~ Medium to heavier pressure -you will still have control for every day writing with a some nice expression when pen was actually filled with ink to make this writing sample, The Paper is from a Rhodia Dotpad No. 16, the dots are 5mm apart to help you gauge the line variation. The inks are Diamine Monaco Red and Waterman South Sea Blue - the ink sample will come with the pen
