Rare Vintage Premier Flat Base Hi-Hat Stand ~ Made In England

Here is a very cool and very rare vintage Premier hi-hat stand from the 1960\'s. This was the very best top of the line professional model that you could get from Premier. Some of the best stands made today would have a hard time trying to compete with this one. Lets check it out.

The first8 colorful pictures were shot indoors without the flash and thenext 3 were shot outdoors also without the flash. The last picture is of a page taken from the 1968 Premier catalog. One of the outdoor shots shows it with a set of Zildjian hats which are not included with the stand. They are just to show whatthe standlooks like with a pair of 14\" hats. The main lower steel tube is a heavy duty large diameteroval shape and the flush base legs are also heavy dutyoval shape and they taper from end to end and theoval shape switches from horizontal to vertical. Very cool and very strong and sturdy. The footboard is made of heavy duty steel and has a very comfortable black rubber foot pad with non slip tread. The foot pad has raised letteringof the brand namePREMIER and MADE IN ENGLAND plus the Premier logo. It also has PREMIER, LOKFAST and MADE IN ENGLAND in raised letters on the bottom of the center die cast housing. It has a thick wallheavy duty 5/8\"diametersteel upper tubeand a two piece 1/4\" diameter pull rod that unscrews where the upper tube meets the lower tube. This stand is 100% complete and comes with the original clutch assembly.

Now lets check out some of the cool features.

It has 6 notches to choose from at 3/8\" intervals along the top of the pull rodfor settingthe position of the clutch. Using these notches prevent the clutch from slipping but you can still set the clutch anywhere you want on the smooth part of the rod. You can still do any fine adjustment in between the notches with the upper tube height setting.

It has a knurled thumb wheel built into the upper part of the mainoval tube for adjusting the return spring tensionfor the pedal and pull rod. This thumb wheel spins on an internal threaded rod and it does spin freely making it very easy to set the tension.

Instead ofa typical wing screw it has a large paddle type set screw for clamping the upper tube height adjustment. This paddle screw does not make direct contact with the upper tube so it does not leave any dents or marks on the tube. It actually screws into a large internal clamp that wraps around a good portion of the tube that grips the tubevery tight without having to apply much tension.

The upper tube also has a handy black handle grip so you can keep your nasty fingerprints off the shiny chrome whenever you grab onto it to set the tube height or to move the stand.

Rather than havinga singlecenter pull point at the pedal like most stands this one has a pair of exterior chrome steel straps attached to each side of the pedalusing a chrome Y bracket. These straps are about 4-1/2\" long whichallow the pedal some side to side movement which gives your foot the ultimate in control. There is a rubber stop at the top of each pull strap that act as shock absorbers for the sudden tension release each time you lift your foot off the pedal.

The footboard has a rubber heel with non skid tread and 2 built in fixed spurs plus each leg has rubber foot tips also with non skid tread and heavy duty slotted head adjustable spurs.

Both legs and the hinged footboard fold up against the main body tube for compact storage and transport. This is accomplished by simply backing off a few turns on the extra large locking wing nut located on the bottom center of the stand. You can quickly break it down even further by easily removing the hats, the upper tube and pull rod and everythingwill easily fitin a 24\" long case or gig bag.

As you can see this stand does have a couple of features that are not available onmany other stands.

With only afew cosmetic flaws this stand may not be in 100% collectors condition but it is very shiny and in excellent working condition. There is a minimum amount of pitting and some very light scratches in just a few spots which you really cant notice from a couple of feet away. The two worst and most obvious spots are on the paddle screw and the left pull strap. The surface on the paddle screw has some pitting and there is a little chrome flaking off the left side pull strap. These minor flaws are more than likely from not being properly cleaned and properly stored because the stand really hasn\'t been used all that much. The rubber foot pad and the rubber heel and leg tips really don\'t show any wear plus I believe the clutch assembly with the felt washers are original and are in excellent condition. The bottom cymbal hi-hat seat has been replaced with a new Gibraltar seat because the original seat turned up missing.

Other than the new seat I believe the rest of this stand is 100% original and it totally blows my mind at how great this thing works. As you can read in the last picture Premier claims that their new LokFast stands are the most advanced and the best in the world. Collectible or not this stand is an excellent player. The action is super smooth and amazingly quick. This is actually one of the best and smoothest operating flat base hi-hat stands I ever played and I have played on some high dollar stands. You can buy the best and most expensive hi-hat cymbals but you cant get the best sound and performance out of themusinga cheap inferior stand. I am the second owner of this stand and I just gave it a quick once overwipe downfor the pictures. I would think if you wanted to spend a little time on it with somechrome polish you can make it look a lot better. I would think that the reason you rarely ever see one of these stands offered is because anybody that has one wants to keep it. Take a close look at all the pictures because you just may never see another one of these up for grabs. There is a good chance this stand is worth much more than what I\'m asking but we will just have to wait until the sale ends to see what it mayactually be worth.

I Ship Fast! Usually within 24 hours of cleared payment.

This stand will be very well packed and shipped for $21 to anywhere in the USA plus any other country that is accepted through the global shipping program. Any and all additional taxes or import fees are the responsibility of the buyer.

Thanks for looking and check my other listings for more drum stuff!
