Description

An Estate Sale Vintage Beautiful Set of 6 Hand Painted Footed Japanese Porcelain Individual Ashtrays with a Gorgeous Thick Gold Edge and a circle design. Each has a different man and scene. What a Beautiful, Unique Set to display; each has a Red Mark on the bottom. The Colors are vibrant and exciting. These wonderful Ashtrays were purchased at an estate sale where the family lived in Japan for many years. They collected both Japanese & Chinese pieces, several of which we purchased. Their home was filled with many, many outstanding Asian works of Art. These Ashtrays are probably mid century, as the family lived in Japan from the late 1940s until 1972.

The Lovely Ashtrays have only been used for display. The Set will make a great gift for you, a family member or a friend who has any kind of Japanese Collection or Ashtray Collection!

All of our items are sent Expedited Shipping (USPS Priority or UPS Ground) unless a customer has asked us to see if we can find a less expensive way to ship.

If you have any problem with the item you purchased, please contact us immediately so we can work it out. We have worked long and hard to have our 100% Positive response and to maintain our Seller status; we want our customers to be happy with their purchases and the service we provide. However, we can\'t solve a problem if we don\'t know about it, and only find out about it if notifies us or we receive a less than perfect response. We are not perfect, but we try to be.

We want you to know that we have to purchase our boxes and packing materials. We do not pad our shipping prices in any way. If we have a box that can be used that we didn\'t have to buy, or if it can be shipped USPS, we do not charge for the box. All buyers pay a maximum of $.40 for packing materials (quilting, bubble wrap, peanuts, etc.) whether we have spent a lot more than that. Crushed newspaper absorbs the shock of being dropped better than anything else, including peanuts. However, we do add peanuts if necessary simply because most carriers don\'t consider an item safely packed without peanuts.

Payment

Due to \'s policy, Granny & Grandad accept PayPal payments only. Payments must be made within 5 days of the sale close, unless we have made contact with each other and agreed to other arrangements.

Shipping

All items are packaged with care and using professional packing materials (except for the newspapers we use to absorb shock) to ensure the safe arrival of your purchase. In the event an item is broken in shipment, we ask that you contact us through immediately. Please save the original box(es) and all packing materials, etc., as the carriers will require they be inspected for proof, either in person or by emailed photos, that they were properly packaged when sent out. As the buyer, only you will have that proof. Thank you for your understanding in this matter.

As soon as you notify us, we will contact the carrier and try to determine how long it will take them to process the claim. At our option, if it appears to us that the process may be rather lengthy, we may decide to go on and reimburse you ourselves, and have the carrier\'s insurance company reimburse us, so you do not have to wait very long. Although we generally specify the carrier (USPS, Fedex, UPS), Grandad will determine how it will be shipped that he considers the safest and least expensive.

We live deep in the Texas Hill Country, therefore, we live 30 miles round trip to our Post Office and it is 44 miles found trip to our closest UPS drop off. We prefer Fedex; however, in the country a Fedex delivery person picks up out-going packages when he or she is through with his route for the day. That can very easily be early afternoon and if we took the package around 4:00 PM, it would not go out until the next day. Under these circumstances, we generally use UPS because they ship out Monday-Friday at 6:00 PM.

Terms of Sale

Payment is normally due within 5 days of the close of the sale. However, on occasion a situation arises that makes a customer need more time to get a payment in. We are flexible; all we ask is that you contact us, let us know what the situation is and we will try to work something out.

Also, has instituted new performance standards for their Sellers. One of the new rules has to do with a customer asking us not to ship the items until a future date. We have never had a problem of holding paid merchandise until the customer\'s event (birthdays, Christmas) is closer, or that the customer will be traveling for business, be on vacation, etc.

Under \'s new rules, we have to ship every item within 24 hours of being paid, or we will penalized for poor performance. We do ship within 24 hours, except when a customer needs us to hold the merchandise for one reason or another.

Now these rules are very tight and do not allow us to do what our customer wants done. I have talked to repeatedly about not being allowed to follow our customers wishes and so far, has not been able to work anything out. We work very hard to achieve and maintain our 100% Positive response, but we want to be able to give our customers the services they need.

We have decided, in the future, when our customers want or need something shipped at a later date, we will ask them not to pay for their items until closer to the shipping time. will move them to a late pay, but it won\'t affect their status if we don\'t take any action, which we won\'t because we will have agreed on this course. When it gets paid and shipped the next day, both our customers and we will be happy. We will accommodate our customers needs this way until figures out how to allow for delayed shipping.

About Us

Granny & Grandad live in the Beautiful Texas Hill Country, about 50 miles north of San Antonio, Texas (Home of the World Champion Spurs Basketball Team!). We primarily go to Estate Sales, but we are interested in any sales that we think may have unique or interesting items that our customers might like. We are very fortunate that San Antonio is the home of many retired Military people who have collected wonderful Art & Items from all over the world and then come back to San Antonio to retire.

While we are not experts, we try to find out all we can about the history of the items we purchase by talking with the estate agents, family members and friends of the estate, and anyone else we think might have some knowledge we don\'t have. We enjoy what we do so much; our biggest pleasure comes in finding other people\'s items that have been loved and treasured, then recycling them to others who will love them and treasure them. We strive to be accurate in our descriptions, however, we are not mistake proof and may accidently miss a scratch or fleabite, etc., that we have failed to notice.
