Green cloth boards with gilt lettering on cover and spine. Book is encased in publisher\'s box. (See pictures). Miniature book measuring approximately 4.5\" by 2.75\". Marbled endpapers andreproduction of Walpole\'s notes. Book is fine. Publisher\'s box is very good+ with some rubbing and edgewear to the exterior and very minor soiling to the interior of the box.
Includes a handwritten note from W.S. Lewis on green paper with the initials W.S.L. at the top of the page. The note reads \"To NIN, whoshares her birthday with the Republic, From LEFTY. 4th July 1964.\" W.S. Lewis was known as W.S. \"Lefty\" Lewis and was a wealthy collector of Walpole\'s letters who wished to make those letters available to scholars. Horace Walpole was a famous 18th century letterwriter who tended to focus on the social andpoliticallife of aristocratic London.
