I have collected the wonderfully detailed carvings of the talented folk artists, Vaughn and Stephanie Rawson, for decades. They have even made several one-of-a-kind pieces at my request.. Though we never met, I think of them as friends. VJ\'s last years were challenging as they both waged a fierce fight against his prostate cancer. The world of folk art collectors mourns the loss of a kind and talented man.
This carving is RARE, #2 in a Limited Edition of ONLY 2, of the world famous composer and conductor, John Philip Sousa! What would the 4th of July be without his goosebump-inducing, rousing marches!!! He is in his United States Marine Corps Dress Blues uniform, painted with great detail by Stephanie. Next July he can be leading your parade of Rawson Patriotic Carvings! 10-3/4\" H, 4\"W, 2\" base.
