Superb Gentleman\'s (or Ladies) original French \'Desta\', high grade, 17 jewel wrist watch in a very large 12ct (tested) gold plated case with new genuine 24mm black leather strap and gold tone buckle.
C~1960\'s.
Full working order and highly suitable for a larger wrist.
DIAL;-
Highly attractive and extremely unusual gold dial (which alters in shade from gold to silver when caught in the light) in very near mint condition- absolutely no marks or fading and just a few very tiny overall \'specs\' and little scratch to number 8 (all showing under eyeglass only) commensurate with age.
Signed clearly in bold black script; DESTA
and signed in black script to base of dial; FRANCE.
Very bold black Roman numerals.
Original black dauphine hands both all inlovely straight order.
Original, slightly domed, bevel edge crystal in clear and bright order with just one or two very light and short little (micro) surface scratches again showing under eyeglass only.
CASE;-
The very large, original 12ct gold plated case measures 3.6cm width (excluding the winder), 3.8cm lug to lug and 1cm depth.
Is in excellent condition with no indentations or wear and just a few extremely light and short little surface scratches (again showing under eyeglass only) commensurate with age in her 50+ years service.
The slightly textured, chromed back cover is free of any inscriptions or initials and is clearly stamped to the inside; DESTA WATCH CO FRANCE BASE METAL.
CROWN;-
Original totally un-worn, crisp, gold plated, flat \'onion\' crown (nicely inset and is wound by running your finger across its underside) which has a little pink, cabochon cut, ruby stone to centre .
MOVEMENT;
The French, high grade, 17 ruby jewelled, 3/4 plate lever movement is in excellent bright and clean order and has just been checked and serviced.
Clearly stamped to the top plates; SEVENTEEN 17 JEWELS UNADJUSTED FRANCE. ANGUENOT FRERES (this would be the maker\'s name).
Balance action is absolutely tremendous in all positions (could not be any better) and is keeping great time with a sure, strong, positive action.
STRAP;
Complete with a new, black, genuine leather 24mm wide strap which measures 24.5cm length (including the watch) and has a gold toned buckle.
