This one is a beauty! We have had this in our family for a long timeand have decided to sell it. I have researched this helmet to the best of my ability, I am in no way a professional, historian, or collector by any means. What info I have has been obtained through computer research, reading, watching other sales of very similar items, photo comparisons, andcorrespondencemessagingfrom a prospective buying company.I haveno proof or appraisal for this helmet, but assume a prospective buyer will realize its authenticity from the photos, and can research the item once they purchase it. The buyer will haveup to a5 day opportunity after receiving it,to return the item if not satisfied. This item is perhaps almost 100 years old and must be handled with extreme care if you wish toreturn it. All stipulations of the return will be listed under my return policy and must be followed to guarantee the return. Helmet details are as follows: I believe this helmet to be a M 1916 German War Helmet. It was manufactured in 1916 in Thale, Germany by a firm called Eisenhuttenwerke (E.T.) Therefore Eisenhuttenwerke, Thale. The size is a 62, which is in centimeters. Therefore the engravinginside the helmet at the left temple states E.T. 62. (Manufacturer and size). There are no other numbers engraved any where elsein this helmet? The metalrimmedhelmet is green in color with slightbrown undertones (see photos), and is believed to be original paint and has never been cleaned, re-touched, or painted. The helmet has no dents. The total weight of the helmet is 2.7 pounds. This helmet has the original chin strap attached (which is rare) and has never been cleaned or oiled. The originalleatherliner is still attached by two of the three original split pins, one pin is missing. Liner is a bit soiled withsweat, dirt, ageand etc. and has never been cleaned or altered. Original horsehair cushionliner pillows are still attached and one still has horsehair in it and has never been opened, the two other pillows are attached but no longer have the hair inside. The leather liners drawstrings teats do have some damage. The sixeyelets through which the drawstring goes through, 5 of the 6 have damaged eyelets. Some are split all the way through, or are mostly split through, only one is perfect. Please examine photoscarefullyas to determine condition, damageand authenticity.I have took great care to photo this helmet in many aspects and will do my best to answer any question you may have.
