A very rare bayonet. Original Turkish Model 1903 Quillback bayonet, made under contract in Germany (Kirschbaum, if I recall correctly). Most of these were cut down or modified at some point. This one likely escaped any modification because I found it the country of Georgia, in the capital Tblisi. I purchased this bayonet along with a variety of other rare bayonets at a market in Tblisi.This bayonet almost certainly saw action against Russian forces in WW1 where it was likely captured after the horrendous defeat of Ottoman forces. Very good condition considering it has a leather scabbard. Scabbard is a bit dry, but not falling apart. Has a crack midway down, but is secure.I will include a letter certifying that it was purchased in the former Republic of Georgia, if the buyer wishes.
