This sale is for an ORIGINAL vintage presentation photograph by HAROLD HALIDAY COSTAIN (1897-1994).

The photo shows the U.S.S. LEVIATHAN Band, and the members are identified underneath the image, by Costain.

Backside has Costain\'s ink stamp, and he has added his original signature and inscription, in pencil. Inscription reads: March 28, 1962 / To my old shipmate \"Hal\" Cory on the occasion of the 39th Annual Reunion of the U.S.S. LEVIATHAN ASS\'N / Saturday April 28th 1962 at 6:00 PM.

This original 13 7/8\" x 10 7/8\" photo is on its original 14 3/4\" x 11 3/4\" cardboard mount.

This is an original vintage photo, not a modern copy or reprint. Displays beautifully, with no rips, tears, holes, or repairs.

While serving a brief stint on the USS Leviathan during World War I, it was discovered that he had his Kodak 3A Postcard camera, and he was given the task of photographing activity aboard the ship. Afterwards, Costain launched his career as a still photographer and cinematographer in the motion picture industry.
