OVERVIEW

This listingis for a beautiful item from OMEGA and a rare one too. The OMEGA OFFICER rangewas produced for the Swedish military during World War 2. This is an earlymodel with a serial number for 1939 (though it could feasibly be up to 1940)and a rare dial configuration too. As a smaller midsized piece it sits at 30mmswithout the crown and is a welcome change from the bloated statement pieces oftoday.

The watchis 100% original other than the crystal which looks to be a later replacement.The dial is 100% authentic and has the kind of patina which you can only getafter 70+ years of life and which the collector’s fall over themselves for. Itis in working order and time keeping over the last few hours has shown this tobe gaining time, running fast. We stronglyrecommend getting this serviced soon in order toprotect your investment and maintain good function. The Dial

The dialsignatures have faded though one can still make out OMEGA at the top with theclassic logo.

The BLACKOUTER CHAPTER shows an unusual mix of gold lined ARABIC NUMBERS and uniquelyshaped DIAMOND hour markers.

The SILVERINNER CHAPTER provides a high contrast reference point and beautifullyillustrates the stunning painted CATHEDRAL HANDS. At the very bottom themilitary SUBSIDIARY REGISTER ties it all together perfectly.

The Case

The case issigned on the back MODELE DEPOSE, WATERPROOF OMEGA , SWISS 9830456.

It is ALLStainless Steel.

Itmeasures:

·30mms across NOT including the crown

·31mms top to bottom not including the lugs

·6mms deep

Movement

Themovement is the Calibre 26.5T3 and shows the serial number for 1939. It is alsosigned OMEGA 15 JEWELS SWISS. It iscurrently in working order, but is currently GAINING TIME/RUNNING FAST. We areselling on the basis that the new owner understands that a service is needed toregulate time keeping and to keep the movement tuned.

Pleasenote however that vintage watches cannot beguaranteed and it is always advisable to have them serviced at regularintervals to protect your investment.

Cosmetic Condition

Cosmetically,this is in ORIGINAL CONDITION other than the crystal which looks like areplacement. The dial has 100% AUTHENTIC PATINA and has not been re-painted ormessed with at all. The signatures as discussed have started to fade but thenthis was made in the first year of the Second World War so we can assume it hasseen a bit of life and action! Please also bear in mind that the photos are 1mmmacro and show a lot of detail you wouldn’t otherwise see with the naked eye.Most importantly, please study the photos and make your own assessment prior toofferding.

Strap

It comes ona lovely vintage soft Tan leather 16mm used strap. It still has life left in ityet and is a fitting accompaniment to this fine time piece.
