Here is an irresistible, profoundly Historic World War II find - a large size Surrender Pass that was dropped behind enemy lines to encourage Nazi soldiers to surrender, with instructions on how to do so!!

Magnificently printed in red and black, this amazing 5.25\" x 8.25\" document features the Great Seal of the U.S. and the Seal of the Allied Forces at the top. \"PASSIERSCHEIN\" and explanatory text appear in German Gothic letters, with their English translation below. Both sectionsconclude with the engraved signature of the Supreme Commander of the Allied Expeditionary Force and later U.S. President, Dwight D. Eisenhower!!

The English Text Reads:

SAFE CONDUCT

The German Soldier who carries this safe conduct is using it as a sign of his genuine wish to give himself up. He is to be disarmed, to be well looked after, to receive food and medical attention as required, and to be removed from the danger zone as soon as possible.

The reverse is also fully printed in German Gothic lettering with a long (6 paragraph) excerpt from the Hague and Geneva Conventions of 1907 and 1929 respectively - fascinating text!! Bold block letters at the bottom state (translated):

RULES FOR BEING TAKEN PRISONER

To avoid Misunderstandings during your Surrender, observe the following: Lay down your Arms, Helmet and Knapsack; Hold your Hands High and wave a Handkerchief or this Flyer.
