I am selling my collection of militaria which I have just unpacked from 30 years in storage. I acquired these items as a teenage collector in the 1970’s at modest cost in good old-fashioned face to face transactions. I have done my best to remember and describe how I came by each item. None have been altered or modified by me in any way. Please examine pictures carefully as a collector and contact me should you need any further information or details.
I believe the following might be important to the collector. This bayonet is marked all over the place. “Euf Hoster” on the ricosso of the blade and “8261” and a ‘lambda’ mark on the other side. Most of the bluing is intact on the blade. The handle looks to be bakelite with a nice dark ‘grain’. There are two very compact eagle- like marks reading “WOA253” on the pommel and one on the press catch. The number 38 on the blade’s spine. The scabbard is marked “15205” on the frog hanger and has numbers stamped on the top edge of the scabbard as well – these look like “84,8, and 76?”. No marks on the face of the scabbard which has a blade locking set screw. The frog is soft enough to remove the scabbard but has a small rent forming at the top of the hole for the hanger. The frog is rivetted course leather and has no marks I could find. The strap to hold the bayonette in the frog and the belt loop are intact and bendable.I purchased this bayonet at an Adamstown PA flea market in the 1970’s.
