Original WW2 German Army Dragoon Eagle Tradition Badge (Dragoneradler Traditionabzeichen). Also known as the Eagle of Schwedt (Schwedter Adler).This is one of a very small group of officially recognised tradition badges used in the German Army. It was worn by the 2nd and 4th Troops of Cavalry Regiment Number 6 and then Motorcycle Battalion No. 3. These units were later disbanded and the Tradition Badge then went to Cavalry Regiment Centre (Mitte), and later to it\'s parent body 3rd Cavalry Brigade. When the Brigade was expanded to Division Size in 1945, as 3rd Cavalry Division it continued to wear the badge.This example is complete with two folding pins. It is made of a magnetic white metal. It is not marked. It has a gold wash which has rubbed on slightly on raised front surfaces. This has been removed from a hat. The pins appear to be made of copper. Crisp detail. See photos. Badge is gold coloured metal. 24.8 mm (0.97 in) high by 25.2 mm (0.99 in) wide.The badge weighs about 2 grams (.07 ounces).
