You are offerding ona VERY RARE example of a 100% ORIGINAL WW2 Russian Ilyushin Il-2 M3 SturmovikFirst Aid/Medical Kit Box! Thiswas located on the RIGHT side of the cockpit for easy access to the pilot. This was recovered from a wreck in Russia, however I do not have any loss history.

The Ilyushin Il-2 (Cyrillic: Илью́шин Ил-2) was a ground-attack aircraft (Cyrillic: Штурмовик, Sturmovik) in the Second World War, produced by the Soviet Union in very large numbers. In combination with its successor, the Ilyushin Il-10, a total of 42,330[3] were built, making it the single most produced military aircraft design in all of aviation history, as well as one of the most produced piloted aircraft in history along with the American postwar civilian Cessna 172 and the Soviet Union\'s own Polikarpov Po-2 biplane, sometimes seen side-by-side with the big armored Ilyushin design on the front lines.

To Il-2 pilots, the aircraft was simply the diminutive \"Ilyusha\". To the soldiers on the ground, it was the \"Hunchback\", the \"Flying Tank\" or the \"Flying Infantryman\". Its postwar NATO reporting name was \"Bark\". The Il-2 aircraft played a crucial role on the Eastern Front.

Made ofaluminum and steel,this first aid box is in EXCELLENT relic condition!!! Recovered from a wreck in Russia, it was manufactured between between1944 and 1945, and was located directly right of the pilot. Though it does feature somedents and marks,it is VERY solid otherwise! Not compelte internally, but it does includew the originalbanadage. Easily identifiable as being from an Il-2, due to the shape and size...I have indicated it\'s location in the last photos (Il-2 and LaGG 3). Would make a SUPERB addition to any collection or display!
