This negative is part of a group of negatives purchased a few years ago from an sale house in Germany that specializes in WW2 militaria. According to the sale house, the consigner was a German archive. This is the lot description from the sale catalog (translated): \"Negatives, slides and photos, including Sachsenhausen concentration camp, Bergen-Belsen, Warsaw Ghetto, persecution of Jews, secret documents, crematoria and liberation. Slight traces of use to some.\" The negatives show scenes taken during or immediately after WW2, including German soldiers, American soldiers, POWs, Holocaust victims and such. Authenticity
In my opinion this negative is an authentic, official duplicate* of the period, from the late 1940s, created for journalistic or academic purposes.
