What a great estate find! Let me explain the one thing that I find just a bit confusing… This book is very definitely stamped 1916 and copyrighted 1917. That said, the man who owned it was CE Enders, Troop L 1st Illinois Cavalry, and his signature and date 7/2/1911 are marked on the first and last pages. That confuses me just a bit, did he enter the service on that date? Why would the book be hand dated earlier than the copyright? Another interesting item is that the same pages have typewritten info on them...very interesting!

Other than that, the condition is very good. There is some minor foxing inside on a few pages and just a bit of edge wear around the book. Mostly it is intact and complete. As a US Army veteran, I found it fascinating to read all about the formations and ceremonies and inspections from WWI. if you collect vintage military memorabilia, then you need to have this book in your collection. It measures about 5 3/4 x 4 1/4“.
