Up for sale is a cap tally for the Imperial German Navy for the S.M.S. KAISER WILHELM DER GROSSE. It is 36\" in length.
S.M.S. KAISER WILHELM DER GROSSE was a pre-dreadnought battleship commissioned in 1901. She spent the time between 1901 and 1908 in both the home and high seas fleets of the German Imperial Navy. She was taken off line in 1908 for retrofitting and placed in reserve. When WWI broke out, she was assigned to coastal defense in the North Sea and later in the Baltic. She, like the other older battleships, were removed from service in late 1915 and assigned other duties. She became a depot ship in Kiel and later a torpedo target ship. She was sold for scrapping in 1920
