The Type S-1 seat-type parachute, with its 24-foot diameter canopy, was officially superseded by the AN-A-P-121, AN6510 seat parachute on June 19, 1942. The AN6510 was almost identical to the S-1, with some minor differences in the type of fastener, chest-strap guards, and cushions.

Many pilots preferred seat-type parachutes because they allowed better freedom of movement when pilots turned their heads.

Very clean - would be difficult to upgrade.

Two bungee cords need to be replaced - see photos #7 and #8.

Inspection And Packing Data Card not present.
