An original World War Two letter including the envelope written by Navy Seabee Leland Henley. The letter is dated November 12, 1944. In the letter he mentions Tokyo Rose. I currently have other letters written by this individual listed. The letter reads:

Helllo my loves,

How are my beautiful gals............Oh say honey you asked if I have ever heard of Tokyo Rose. Yes, I heard her for the first time well over a year ago. Yes I guess it was a couple of months after leaving the states. It seems that the N_ps has the idea that they are really spreading propaganda, but if you ask me they just offer the American serviceman a good laugh and a good musical program. There are three people altogether, one is \"Rosie\", another comes on just before she and goes by the name of \"Little Orphan Annie of Tokyo.\" Then there is also a man who gives news reports from Japan in English. It is really funny to listen to him tell about various operations and give scores etc. When you are right there and know its a lot of baloney. ha, ha. Say I guess the censor will pass this talk, I don\'t see why not if you can hear the programs in the states and everyone theremust be talking about them. It seems that it took an awfully long time for the people back there to learn of those programs. Well I hope they get as big a bang out of their hooey as we do........Your Daddy

The letter is in very good condition, with some light wear.
