Ok, a nice original WWII veteran combat used M1A1 EarlyVariation 1 HIGH WOOD folding stock. (SeeRuth’s “War Baby” page 218 for photo & page 291 for info) This is one of the last pieces of a Vetestate I have been selling for almost a year.I can provide info on the vet if requested, name, service number, etc. This stock has sat in a trunk with the vet’sson for 20 plus years. Pluses andMinuses, it is a real Rare Original Late 1942, early 1943 HIGH WOOD ParatrooperStock, Well used, High Wood section has cracked (one of the reasons they wentto the Low Wood Variation 2 type wood) and been repaired, see pictures. The Leather is completely gone, and the metalpart of the stock itself may have been re-parkerized, with what looks likepitting or casting flaws covered by the Parkerizing (?). The only markings I can find are a circle Pon the rear of the stock wood. If youare a serious M1 Carbine collector and don’t have a M1A1 Early, Variation 1HIGH WOOD folding stock, here you go.Please, this is a 75 year old original Military item, No Whiners!! Have priced to sell !!!!

Yes, the very early M1A1 Stocks were made with the 1943 Era HIGH WOOD Variation. Guaranteed to be 100% Original. The reason you never see them is, as with this one, they cracked and broke with the heavy Airborne and combat use.
