This is simply an incredible cel! We\'ve had it on our wall for a long time now, but it\'s time to make room for something else. And while it\'s been up there, everyone who sees it remembers Professor Owl from their childhood!
He originally appeared in 2 Disney shorts: \"Melody\" and the Academy Award winning \"Toot, Whistle, Plunk and Boom\" both released to theaters in 1953 (which is where the cel if from). However, Disney then re-used the footage of Professor Owl from those in \"Disney Sing Along Songs\" which began around 1986 - so an entire generation grew up knowing Professor Owl because of reused footage from 1953!
This is probably the best cel you will ever find of Professor Owl - full figure, face forward, it\'s just gorgeous! It\'s been double-matted and framed in a very nice, uniquely colored (but complementary) frame. What\'s fascinating is that the original owner thought to have it matted with a cardboard cutout on the back that states that this was purchased from Disneyland in 1969. Unfortunately theydid not include the Art Corner goldsticker, but perhaps it is still hidden in the frame. We are not going to open it to check. Plexiglass. Frame measures 16 3/8\" x 13 3/4\".
