Walt Disney Background Artist (Lady and The Tramp) 1950s \"Cowboy\" Mixed Media Painting on Board Original Production Used.
Appears to be Oil or Acrylic on board with possibly an Airbrush and Watercolor with a Wash. Original production used artwork. About 7\" x 11\" in size. This along with several others that I\'ll be listing are from Carson George Productions.
Carson George was a former Walt Disney Photographer and Independent Film Producer who employed the services of some of the artist who had painted the backgrounds of Walt Disney\'s Film \"Lady and The Tramp\" to do the background art for his projects. I\'ve included images of a mid 1950s promotional flyer from Carson George Productions that mentions the use of Walt Disney artist for his film productions (see the last two photos.)
Possible artist might be Mary Blair, Claude Coats, Eyvind Earle or Collin Campbell. Production unknown. Ships flat between thick cardboard.
Property from the Van Nuys, California estate of Photographer Carson Willard George. Carson started his Carreer at Walt Disney Productions as a Downshooter Cameraman specializing in Photographic enlargements. He would soon go on to join the Navy as a WWll Photographer. When he returned from the war he went back to work for Walt Disney Studios until 1955 when he left to start his own company called Carson George Productions as an Independent Film Producer in the heart of Hollywood, California located at Hollywood & Vine.
Carson employed the services of some of the artist who had painted the backgrounds of Walt Disney\'s \"Lady And The Tramp\" for his new projects. He produced several award winning sound slide film productions. Some of his clients were Mobil Gas, Race Car Drivers, The Los Angeles Examiner, ITT & many others. Carson was also a Writer & Race Car Driver Representative. He was the representative for world famous Race Car Drivers Johnnie Parsons & Rex Mays. I\'ve acquired several rare items from his estate including Hand Drawn Artwork from Walt Disney background artist and Midget Race Car related documents and photos. Please see my other listings for additional items.
